What I learned this year!!!!!!!!!!
1) Don't be afraid to speak up Throughout the civil rights movement, there were many events that changed history and affected how us people in society interact. During this time blacks and whites, we were going through a time that called "segregated but equal" meaning that whites and blacks did have the same rights but both groups could not be together. Schools, water fountains, buses, jobs, and many more. Places usually had signs "colored only" and usually in schools, many could tell the difference between white students classes they are clean, new books, and organized but in black schools they are dirty, old books, and small. But this changed when Emmit Till funeral showed the black folks that it was time to change things leading to the bus boycotts meaning not riding the bus anymore after Rosa Parks was demanded to move. Also the Greensboro sit-ins and Martin Luther King speech "I Had a Dream"these events played a role showing that you can speak up...
